Becoming a SANS Instructor

Becoming a SANS Instructor

Are you Interested in becoming a SANS Instructor?

SANS is always looking for the best and the brightest to join the ranks of our world class cadre of instructors. Becoming a SANS Certified instructor is an honor reserved for those who exhibit consistent excellence in the classroom, both with their technical expertise and the way they interact with and impact the student. Whether you are just starting out or have some experience we invite you to consider starting your journey with SANS. You will be supported by great instructors like Seth Misenar, Bryan Simon, Eric Conrad, Ed Skoudis and Rob Lee.

Upon entering the program, we assess your individual situation and experience to help build a plan to see you succeed, including Mentor multi-week format, travelling to teach Community SANS events or attending regional conferences. If you would like to learn more about the program, keep reading and watch the video presentation below. Applications are accepted online below or email us at teach@sans.org for more info.

"I like instructing for SANS because it forces me to keep my skills sharp; attending a SANS class as a student is one thing, whereas teaching the class as a confident facilitator really enforces the material."

Watch Eric Conrad's video on How to be a SANS Instructor

Eric Conrad shares his journey of becoming a SANS instructor, starting as a Mentor and progressing to a Senior Instructor. Eric's very candid presentation will help you understand how the Mentor program helps you grow, not only as an instructor, but also in your career field.

SANS Summit Speaking Opportunities

SANS Summits also offer the opportunity to get involved and to enrich your skills on your path to becoming a SANS Instructor. Diversity of thought is critical to any organization's success, and SANS Summits encourage participation by everyone regardless of age, culture, religious affiliation, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identification. Whatever your background, whoever you are, we encourage you to respond to a CFP. We welcome people who are newer to the field or who have not yet done any public speaking, and we can provide mentoring and guidance to help you develop an impactful presentation.
