SANS Training Guarantee

SANS cares about bringing exemplary cybersecurity training to classrooms around the world as often as possible, but we also care about your safety. In response to the novel coronavirus SANS has implemented a new global Training Guarantee to ensure that you can complete your SANS training in a safe environment.

This SANS Training Guarantee allows the following options for those who would like to or have already purchased SANS training - students can:

  • Transfer an in-person course purchase to an online format: OnDemand, or Live Online
  • Take your course at another SANS In-Person or Live Online training event in 2020 (associated GIAC Certification exam purchases will then also be rescheduled to align with your training)
  • Receive a credit memo to apply towards training taking place within the next 12 months

Questions and answers about this Training Guarantee can be found below, but you can also contact us to discuss your training options.

SANS Training Guarantee Q&A

Q: Should I delay my purchase of a SANS training course?

A: The SANS Training Guarantee keeps you completely covered if you are unable to attend training for any reason. Whether your event has been converted to a Live Online event, or you choose to train OnDemand, or receive a credit memo, our Training Guarantee ensures that there is no financial risk to your purchase.

Q: I registered for In-Person training. Will the SANS training event I registered for take place In-Person?

A: For the safety of our students, staff, instructors, and facilitators, there is no In-Person training planned for the remainder of 2020 (with very limited exceptions). SANS has converted all In-Person events to Live Online events. Students who registered for In-Person training will be contacted as the event date nears to discuss options, which typically include:

  1. Complete their scheduled course Live Online, if available
  2. Take their course at another SANS Live Online training event in 2020 (associated GIAC Certification exam purchases will then also be rescheduled to align with your training)
  3. Transfer an In-Person event course purchase to an online format: OnDemand, or Live Online
  4. Receive a credit memo to apply towards training taking place within the next 12 months

Q: My training event was converted to a Live Online event, what does this mean?

A: If you are registered for In-Person training event that is being modified we will reach out as soon as possible to provide you with more detail about this change. Our Training Guarantee is in effect so you will have options to either attend your training Live Online, transition to another Live Online training opportunity, or receive a credit memo to apply towards training taking place within the next 12 months - guaranteeing that your training will be protected from financial risk.

Your Live Online course will be conducted virtually during the originally scheduled days and times (in the originally scheduled time zone), and you will simply login to attend your live streaming sessions from anywhere in the world. All of your courseware will be shipped to the address we have on file for you, and you will receive an email explaining how to access your course online approximately one week prior to your training start date. Your Live Online course will also include four months of online access to your course recordings and SME support. ill also include four months of online access to your course recordings and SME support.
